Rare Earths
Rare earths are a group of 17 elements in the periodic table, including 15 known as the Lanthanide series, plus Yttrium and Scandium. Rare earths are categorised into light rare earth elements (LREE) and heavy rare earth elements (HREE). Our rare earths are extracted from high grade placer desposits found in Nigeria hard rock. Rare earths are used in many applications including permanent magnets, catalysts, ceramics, and metal alloys. The most important application of rare earths is in permanent magnets. These high performance magnets are found in applications from electric vehicles to smartphones. Rare earth demand is expected to grow rapidly to support the EV transition.
